following Pierre's advice, I started using the portable version rather than the installed version. In fact uninstalled the installed version just to make sure. However the portable version has just crashed with the following message:

My computer is set up to work in the French language, with French regional settings and an AZERTY keyboard. I can input numeric data from the numeric keypad in Excel without difficulty and the comma which is used as a decimal separator in France duly appears with digits after the decimal point.

I would expect InfoQube to pick up on these regional settings.

Is anyone else interested in sharing how you use IQ, giving as little or as much detail as you are comfortable with?  Here are a few things I'm doing with it.  I'm also including a simplified list of my grids and how I have them structured.  Some current uses:

 

1. I created a dedicated grid for buying a new home.  IQ shines above all other products in applications like this, because you can create as many custom fields as you want to track specific traits that are unique to a project.  For instance for this grid I've created number fields to track acreage, days on market, amount, checklist fields for all the traits I want and so on.

 

2. I created a master grid (first grid so it's easiest to get to) that lists all of my other grids under categories, and launches them via links.  This actually works much better for me than trying to find them in the tabs.

Click on a tab that isnt displayed.

IQ thinks I have done a click and drag with the consequence that the tab will often move position:

 

 

Note that the move symbol -- as in screenshot -- only shows if you pause the mouse or move it slowly.

What often happens next is that the 'Budgets' tab moves to the left of the other (half-visible) tab -- note that this happens a few seconds later.

Earlier today I was pasting text from one HTML pane to another and this popped up.  I'm pretty certain I just selected regular paste (not paste special), so are there specific conditions that cause this to box to pop up, when pasting from one pane to another?

It would be nice if the help doc explained these 4 options.  With most programs I'd expect a simple "retain formatting" or "plain text" option, but of course I never expect simple from IQ .

I've been trying out InfoQube, I like what I see but I am getting a lot of crashes as I
use it, maybe 2-3 over the course of an hour or so. Very frustrating. It's hard to say
what in particular crashes it, if indeed it is anything in particular. The latest was as I
was trying out the "shopping list" tutorial - it crashed just as I tried to open the new
shopping list grid I'd created. For what it's worth, these are the error details:

I have a data entry grid whose source is a yes/no field called PhDProj. I am pasting multi-line data into this grid from the clipboard. In the grid management form, I have source PhDProj, Auto-assign field list for all top level items (TLI) added in this grid (read-only) [PhDProj], Keep source field values when demoting TLI not set, Auto-assign field list for all items added in this grid (comma separated list) PhDProj.

If I now paste data into the grid, taking option 2 to paste each line into a separate item, creating items if necessary, PhDProj is not set for the pasted items. Therefore, if I immediately refresh the grid, the newly posted data does not meet the filter and is not displayed.

I would have thought that because the two grid level options are set, the pasted new items should have PhDProj duly and immediately set and should therefore be preserved across the refresh operation.

I followed the instructions here, modifying the NewHTML.htm file: 4. Document Pane

 

It does not result in a change.  Suggestions?

I have copied and pasted text from a couple of other Windows applications into the HTML pane, selected "text" (not unicode) and each time it pastes in what looks like a foreign language.  If I then select paste right from within the HTML pane a second time, it then pastes in English.
