Pop-up lists - filter-as-you-type no longer working in version 81

Submitted by gregory on 2016/09/16 05:35
Version 82 81 introduces new functionality in the area of pop-up lists:  “New: Grid and Properties pane: When showing a popup list, a filter bar is now shown below the list to filter it. Use Ctrl + G to show the filter list dialog (similar to the grid filter dialog) and select filtering options.” This is useful and generally to be welcomed. However, it also introduces what is for me a regression from the functionality in version 81 80. Previously, it was possible simply to start typing characters and InfoQube would auto-select a match, much as with the filter as you type functionality. That seems no longer to work in version 82 81.

The suggested change would be to introduce field setting (Auto-search) so that the previous behaviour could be reintroduced on a field-by-field basis.

Column resizing oddity

Submitted by DavidF on 2016/09/14 16:54
This is some small stuff, but I thought I might as well mention it. I noticed that when you auto-resize a column by double clicking on its column separator (like in Excel), what happens depends on what content is showing for that column on screen. That is, if any of the cells for that column that are visible on screen have content, the resize takes place as it should, the column sized to the width of the widest content. If all the currently visible cells for that column are empty, the resize will happen as though the whole column is empty, ie the column will resize to "barely visible".

As I say not earth-shattering stuff but thought I would mention it while I remember.

Images Don't Size Properly in HTML Pane

Submitted by David_H on 2016/09/13 16:24
1. When I insert images into the HTML pane they don't display at the correct resolution.  As an example I just inserted some images that are 720 pixels high.  Yet within IQ they only show up about 500 pixels high.  I haven't done enough testing to know if the resizing is consistent - but my initial impression from other times I've experienced this is that it isn't.  Sometimes images are much larger than they should be, sometimes much smaller.

2. In a previous version I believe a fix was implemented so that images could be resized by dragging from the corner of an image, without changing the aspect ratio.  I think that fix was lost, because I again find it near impossible to resize an image in the pane without changing the aspect ratio.  Maybe a checkbox be put on the insert image dialog named "lock aspect ratio"?

Thanks!

can't scroll "live search" grid down to see more found items after I have used Ctrl+Shift to wrap items

Submitted by jimspoon on 2016/09/09 16:31
I used Ctrl+Shift to show more of the found items in the Live Search grid.  After I did so, I was not able to use the cursor keys to scroll the Live Search down to see items below the lowest displayed item.

Hi IQ Users,

Most Recent Files List Issue

Submitted by David_H on 2016/09/08 14:44
I thought I had an issue with my .sndb file, so I archived it, and reverted to a recent backup.  I saved the backup as a new .sndb file and gave it the same name as the original (now archived) file, let's call that "main.sndb".

I have IQ set to open without any databases open.  Now every time I open IQ, it won't show the new "main.sndb" file in the recent file list.  This must have something to do with the fact that I renamed a backup to that, because it shows other recently opened .sndb files.  Is there something I can do to get it to show up (other than giving it a different name)?

Thanks

Criteria for SNDB File Storage

Submitted by David_H on 2016/09/07 22:17
1. When are files automatically stored in the SNDB folder?  From what I can see:

a. Photos pasted into the HTML pane get stored there.
b. MHT files get stored there.
c. But HTML files DON'T get stored there, but are stored in the IQ database?

2. Why do most files in the SNDB get inserted into a folder with the item number as the name, yet other files get inserted into the root folder?

Thanks

Alignment question

Submitted by Jon on 2016/09/07 11:41
If I right click on a column and choose alignment, the contents of the column defaults to center (if that is my choice). Under Field Properties, there is an option for alignment also. I assume this is not for alignment of the headers but rather for the columns. Yet while the columns are centered via the right click option, this is not reflected in Field Properties where the alignment remains left. If I am wrong and this option controls header alignment, then it does not work.

[SOLVED] Half My Grids Won't Open

Submitted by David_H on 2016/09/07 01:43
Edit: will update with solution shortly...

I'm not sure what to make of this, out of nowhere half my grids won't open.  I click on a grid, the screen flashes like a grid should open, I see a single item in the HTML pane that I know is from that grid, but the grid doesn't actually open or become visible.

I tried database repair.  Also tried selecting and unselecting "show grid", just in case that would trigger anything.  And of course have closed and reopened. If I create a new grid, it can be opened.

Any suggestions??
