Sorting by 2 Values Doesn't Seem to Work

Submitted by David_H on 2016/08/14 16:32
See attachment.  Using these settings I'd expect my items to sort first by Sort Order.  That works.

For those items that have the same sort order, I'd expect those to then sort by Item, based on the second sort order of "Item".  That half works.  These are all parent level items, all with a field assigning them to this grid.  It actually does sort a lot of them alphabetically, far too many to be a coincidence.  But here and there will be items stuck where they shouldn't be, an A item right after a Q item, and so on.

Why?

And here is something that is even weirder.  If I take an item that doesn't sort correctly, let's sat that item mentioned above that starts with "A", and rename it to start with "Z" and then click refresh, it sorts properly.  But the moment I then take the Z away and put the A back,

Can't Copy and Paste in Forum Any More?

Submitted by David_H on 2016/08/11 00:10
I used to constantly copy and paste text into posts.  I always overcome the Drupal right click dialog you get when right clicking with a post by holding down the control key, which allows normal right click functions.  Now that no longer works in FF or Chrome.  Not sure if it's because of browser updates or a forum change?  And the Drupal right click box won't even work in FF any more, the paste option is always grayed out, so I can't paste that way either.

Any way to turn that right click forum thing off?  It's sort of a pain .

Blanks Should Sort at Bottom

Submitted by David_H on 2016/08/10 22:00
I use a Sort Order column so that I can set a manual sort order for certain grids.  Unfortunately it doesn't work very well because when sorting ascending it always places blanks in the sort column at the top.  So using X below to represent a blank, it sorts like this:

X
X
X
1
2

But at least for me the whole point of using a manual sort order is I want to have a few important items always show up at the top.  If the user wanted blanks to show up at the top they wouldn't be using a sort order at all, I'd think?  So the only way to achieve what's desired is to give every single item in the grid some sort value, even if unneeded.  Which is a PITA.  Would you consider making blanks sort at the bottom?

Help on Calculation Column

Submitted by David_H on 2016/08/10 19:34
I have a start time and end time column which in turn populate a duration column.  I'd like to create an additional column for "total hours" that sums the duration column for the DAY.  To be clear, I do not need this to be project specific.  It's not for billing or anything like that and doesn't need to roll up to a parent item.  I just want to be able to look at my Done grid, and see a total hours column that shows how much time I logged for the day.

Can anyone (maybe Pierre ) give me the exact syntax I need to enter, and on which field/s, to accomplish this?

Thanks!

Make hyperlink not open in Scratch

Submitted by DavidF on 2016/08/04 17:33
If I create in one item a hyperlink that links to another item, in the same grid, is there any way when I click that link, it takes me to the linked item, but staying in that grid? The default behaviour seems to be to open the linked item in Scratch. I guess there is the fact of course that an item could appear in several grids, so which one should IQ go to... The linked item in question is a subitem (by quite some way), so has no attribute marked that specifies it belongs to that grid where its parent is and which I am working in.

It's just it would be useful to see some context when I click on the link, and not just get a lone item in the Scratch grid.

MindMap Popup Warning

Submitted by David_H on 2016/08/04 13:33
I know this is a minor thing Pierre, but would you consider eliminating this IMHO time wasting message (see screenshot)?  I don't think it serves any purpose and unless I am missing something there is no need to protect the user here.  The answer to the prompt is "of course I want to do it for the selected item, that's why I clicked on the selected item and chose mind map!"

Also IQ is capable of having 10 mind maps open at the same time, it's not like the user needs to be warned that the new mind map is going to replace another currently active one, so I don't see any scenario in which this message is necessary?

Thanks

Notifications Area Idea

Submitted by David_H on 2016/08/04 11:59
Is it feasible to enhance the Notifications Pane to display where an Item falls in a hierarchy? See attached screenshot as an example - except IMO the Item itself should be included in the example shown, not just the parents.  This would be exceptionally useful in flat views.

Just an idea for the future.  Seems like the Notification Pane has a lot of potential.

Option "Show Grid Lines" on per Grid basis

Submitted by ethanrox on 2016/08/04 00:40
In my personal use, there are times that I would love having Grid lines ON and times that Grid lines produce unnecessary (to that grid or view that is) clutter.

As there is a "Global" Font option in the Program Settings and "Local" Font option in the Grid Options, it would be great to have the same for the "Show Grid Lines" setting.
