Could "Remove from tagged list" be available in the item context menu ?

Submitted by Armando on 2010/06/05 20:47
Right now it's only available in the properties pane context menu when right clicking in the Tagged items section. It's useful in the properties pane, but I think it would also be very convenient if the user could have access to the feature directly from the grid.

Opinions ?

Components page OK?

Submitted by KeithB on 2010/06/04 12:40
Hi Pierre,

Is it okay to make an  "under the hood" reference page for the manual?

It would just list the components, and websites, and what they do in general,  and maybe some very general info on the vb "glue", the stuff  found in old posts.

Infohesive free

I found out another outliner, Infohesive is now free. I mention it, because it seems to have extensive import and export capability, and might stimulate/illustrate some ideas /coming attractions for infoqube.
I experimented and imported Jibz' chm file it, then produced a pdf from that, that was kind of neat. (it "choked" on a few pages, with an invalid picture file format, but they were able to be bypassed.

Large database - performance issues

Submitted by Jon on 2010/06/03 12:18
I am not sure that this is the proper forum for this, but here goes. I know that Pierre has been steadily improving performance, but for me large databases just seem very sluggish. This has nothing to do with filters, conditional formatting, or auto-assign features. For example, one of my DBs has a grid with a lot of entries (>5000) and exceeds 9 levels deep. Scrolling is a nuisance and refreshing takes forever. I have repaired and compacted the database with little discernable improvement. Do others see this too?

P.S. I may be overloading IQ through my own misuse. If so, tell me, but I thought IQ was built for this sort of flexibility. In its early iterations, Ultra Recall was (for me) very slow, but its performance has improved remarkably.

21. Work todo / issues with the online manual

Submitted by KeithB on 2010/06/03 11:03
[Edit] I modified -- link to nonexistent node ID 1693 -- to have child pages for each issue. I believe it will be much easier to manipulate and update.
Also it could be more easily colloborative--submit ideas on each page, contribute what you know, etc

I made a this page for the "to-do's" in the online manual. Feel free ta add or revise anything.
This can be our "Mantis" type of system to keep track of things to do.

What can we do to thank Jibz???

Apparently Jibz has some awesome technical abilities, and his chm work was incredible.  Any ideas how we can keep him around, and happy?
I for one, plan to go back and re-read his posts...

(edit)  I found a Mouser quote about Jibz, on donationcoder: "Everyone who knows jibz seems to regard him with a kind of reverance.  He's one of the most soft spoken, professional people you'll meet, with an endearing perfectionist streak. He's also one of the most generous programmer's I know, and his help in getting DonationCoder.com off the ground has been invaluable.."
