Happy New Year

Here in the states we celebrate but i think it's pretty universal in the western world so these good wishes should cover a lot of people & territories. I think 2010  should be better than 2009 as some of unpleasant things that happened in 2009 affected us all. Globalization is good but it's also a two edged sword. Anyway, Happy New Year, everyone. Here's to IQ ver 1.0

2nd loss of data for me - I don't know what I'm doing wrong <RESOLVED> but I still have questions

Submitted by jan_rifkinson on 2009/12/30 09:26
Today when searching for another extremely important legal HTML document - notes that I took over several telephone conversations, I again discovered that the data was not in the HTML pane. The items were present but not the HTML materials. This disturbs me so much that I have now taken to printing any HTML page worth anything to me as I don't feel confident about IQ at the moment.

Yes, I know ver pre12 was supposed to address some unlinking issues & yes, I know how to search for the item # in the dB_name.SNDB folder. Not there.  Since I use Drop Box I searched there as well. Not there. I un-deleted recently deleted files on DropBox. Not there. I make a back up to another local drive. I searched there as well. Not there.  I searched my recycle bin.

Version 0.9.25PreRel12 is now available !

Version 0.9.25PreRel12 is now available. All users are strongly encouraged to upgrade as a bug was found:
  • If the HTML pane is collapsed, changing item and then showing the HTML pane could loose the connection between the pane and the HTML file (this issue is not present with embedded content)

No data loss, but there is apparence of it.

To re-link an item to its HTML file:
    • Select the item. Ensure that you can see the itemID (in a column or in the properties pane)
    • HTML>>Open file.
    • Select the YourFile.sndb.files folder
    • There will be a file ItemIDXXXXX.HTM (or MHT). Select the file with the same ID as your item

  • Also: Auto Search Problem

Forms pane clarification

Submitted by Al on 2009/12/28 18:11
A couple of questions. Is the Hide Columns selection in the Grid Column Header context menu the same as delete column from view or is it just a collapse column? If not, how do I remove a column completely from a grid?

Below is the properties pane and Forms... pane. The order of the Contact form is different between the two panes? I assume the order of the Contact form in the Properties pane is based on create date? Is there a way to make order of the two pane the same? In the properties pane the Quick List field is at the bottom of the Contact form and in the Forms pane I placed it at the top of the Contact form.

Thanks
Al

Links to SNDB folder did not adjust when the folder was moved

Submitted by ajr on 2009/12/28 17:38
I saved some files, including a Scrapbook directory, in the YourFile.SNDB.Files folder.  When I copied the larger IQ folder to a different drive and opened it on a different computer, the linked files did not open.  ItemHTMLFile pointed to the old address on the C drive.

Release 11. Vista

<SOLVED> When Grid hierarchy is "on", all TLI with recursive patterns (see details) will disappear from the grid...

Submitted by Armando on 2009/12/28 17:24
Is this a bug ? Seems like it.
Maybe has it always been like that (i doubt it)... But never noticed it before.

Recursion has to be set this way  (basic example) :

  • Item 1
    • Item 2
      • Item 1
        • Item 2
etc.

Only by deactivating hierarchy, will item1 and item 2 be visible in the grid (where they meet the source, of course...)

possible linking bug v9.25 pre 11

Submitted by jan_rifkinson on 2009/12/28 15:55
I experienced the following situation today:

I created an item
I selected text in that item for a link
I searched <CTRL>+F & linked item #1 to item #2 (correct ID # for item #2)
clicked go to complete link
clicked on underlined portion, i.e. link
IQ jumped to parent of item #2 -- not to the item itself.
the parent has a different ID #

I closed & re-opened IQ to see if it was one of those weird refresh problems
After program re-open, link still jumped to parent of proper item
