Necessity of Strategic Marketing

Submitted by CodeTRUCKER on 2009/08/25 20:23
Hello,

After having done some research into the subject of Marketing of IQ in the threads, I have seen that their hasn't been much (public) discussion.  Maybe more things are happening via the PM communications?  Owing to not seeing this broached specifically, I thought it might possibly be advisable to add it to the mix., so here we go.

Why?  Because decisions made on this (marketing) strata could have a direct impact (at least for consideration) on the development decisions Pierre has to make about IQ to drive development and our participation.

Let me use the subject of how wikis/WikiTags might be germaine.  Please see this post for reference...

Tom's request - improve wikitag selection

[quote=Tom]To summarise my requests (& bump)

could you duplicate the drop-down Wikitag selection from the Add New Item dialogue to the Wikitag field in the grid?
i.e.
1) each {wikitag} on a separate line
2) ability to select multiple tags (tickbox)

also:
3) sort tags alphabetically (not currently done in the drop-down Wikitag selection in the Add New Item dialogue)

How do I restore my HTML tool bars?

Submitted by CodeTRUCKER on 2009/08/25 05:55

Oops!    I have managed to make all my HTML tool bars disappear which I was intending to do just to see what would happen.  Well, right-clicking in the tool bar area and un-checking everything produced what I expected to see... no tool bars.  What I didn't expect was not being able to right-click to restore one or more tool bars!

Can anyone tell me how to make the HTML tool bars reappear?

Perhaps Pierre ought to include the following in his, "So you wanna be a beta tester" part of IQ's EULA?

Firefox won't let me post or reply due to no "Comments" field.

Hi All,

Admitedly, this is probably not a bug with IQ, but since it is a "bug" with this IQ forum, I thought this the best place to ask for help.  FYI - I have already done the obligatory searches and have disabled every Firefox extension.

The "bug" is that when I try to reply to or author a new post I have no "Comments*" field to enter any verbiage?!?  I have to resort to IE7 to make a reply or post for help.

Has anyone seen this and/or offer any solution?

Fair winds,

Is this a "refresh" bug?

I was playing around with the latest InfoQube version and so was doing some things that maybe I shouldn't have....

I noticed that if I created a grid, a custom field, and then changed the field and/or grid name, this would result in errors.  Listed below are the steps I took.  Can someone repeat and tell me if the red outlined areas are issues or not?

Steps to recreate bug:
  • View --> Manage Fields
  • Create a new field called "Projects".

Hi Pierre,

As one who is struggling with IQ (and bumbling through this forum writing duped posts )  I have to say the dilution (Read: "improvement") of InfoQube's "this is way too over-the-top" of a learning curve" reputation is very important to keep user's that "testdrive" IQ.

I am persuaded a fresh-out-of-the-box intuitive, straightforward (Read: "familiar") ability to create/save a simple text/RTF "document" accompanied by an immediate no-frills cross-linking and tagging  functionality would go a long way in providing noobs (like me) the necessary "training-wheels" that would allow one to stay upright until one can get their balance with InfoQube.

HTML/RTF Text Disappears, but Reappears on Mouse-Down Event (See: Mantis #784)

Hi,

I just discovered this board AFTER I entered a bug report.  Anyway here is the body of what I submitted on Mantis #784...

While typing my "journal" of experience, all two days of it, I looked up to see that a whole line of the text had "disappeared??" and left a blank line across the RTF Editor window.

How can I create a simple note and cross-link the contents?

Hi,

I am making my third, but determined attempt at utilizing (dare I say, "master") IQ.  I need some help and I beg your indulgence for this community's forbearing assistance.

My health has dictated that I begin to consider the preparation of my memoirs  I believe that InfoQube has the potential to craft what I am after in this endeavor.  The assistance I desire is...
  • to simply open a note pad and record my thoughts at a whim...
  • to cross-link various items in the notes as required...
These two things will serve me presently and will allow some utility with the program while my perceptions of IQ attempt to gel.

Thank you in advance,

Discussion about IQ's treatment of item field(s) auto-assignation in relation to the grids' sources

[SORRY  : multiple edits : problems with the English language this afternoon...]

This thread follows up a discussion started in the Grid Source EditBox thread from the manual.

I'll just continue from there...

I understand your point, but a similar argument could be made for the "reverse" situation (where a TLI in a grid with a single source is demoted and a that same TLI disappears from another grid with an "AND binded fields" source) -- and that's why I'm having troubles with IQ automatically removing field assignation in the first place (an opinion you are somewhat corroborating in your example).

Following your example, the reverse of is also true :
