items displayed when filter returns > 2000 items

When a grid filter returns > 2000 items, and I select to have the first 2000 displayed, it would be nice if the items displayed were the 2000 most recently modified items.  Or perhaps it would be nice to have some other user-specified default criterion for determining which 2000 items are the first displayed.  For me though, "most recently modified" would be most useful.

Date Editor Dialog

Items can have numerous date values (birthday, meeting, todo, done, etc).
These can be shown in a grid, as a grid column. They are also shown in the Properties pane.

Either way, the date value can be modified using the Date Editor dialog:

  • Click the arrows to change month
  • Click the month to show a dropdown of months
  • Click the year, to change year
  • Click on the red circle to select today's date
Dates can also include a time. Enter it in the text box below the mini-calendar

Tasks Management

InfoQube lets you manage a wide range of information content. One such content are tasks and events, i.e. things to do, people to meet, important dates

Tasks and events are overlapping concepts to a certain extent, but generally speaking, events are shown in a calendar, and tasks in task lists

While both events and tasks can be used, tasks generally:
  • are thing to do
  • are shown in a list. List can be sorted
  • are sometimes arranged in a hierarchy (task / sub-task)
  • may or may not have a specific date
  • do not have a specific time
  • once marked done, tasks are moved / hidden out of view
Tasks are sometimes done on the go, so having a mobile app is essential.

Forms Suggestions

I'd like to resurrect an old topic:  making it easier to add fields to forms.  My suggestions:

1) Add fields to existing forms by dragging from the grid or other forms (or something similar - eg right-click field header>add to form).

2) Allow multiple selections when adding fields from the pulldown list.  Right now, the list closes after each selection.

Item content displayed in text field

I'd like to be able to do this:

1) Set content of text field = content of an item
2) Any changes to the referenced item would be displayed in the text field

I know this was discussed before and, I believe, it was not possible to do this right now.

I would find this very useful for the way I work.  It would allow you to display selected info in a grid format that automatically updates when changes are made to the source items.

I'm doing it already by manually copy/pasting but the auto update feature would be helpful.

There may well be reasons this can't be done that I'm not thinking of.

Google Calendar Issue

Submitted by David_H on 2020/03/26 13:17
Hi Pierre,

I reported this once before and am mentioning it as a reminder. I am already using Google Tasks sync, but currently have Google calendar sync turned off. I have 700+ events that transferred over to IQ when I last had it on. I deleted them all from a grid I created that used the source "ItemInCalendar". However that didn't seem to really delete them because:
- They are still all on the calendar.
- when I look at the field ItemInCalendar in the field manager, it still shows that it has 700+ items. Yet if I select "show in scratch grid" for those items, nothing shows up.

Atrangely, if I look at the date field "IQEvent" that shows 0, which is strange since I'd expect it to also show 700+.

How do get rid of these items - in full?

Thanks,

David

Google Tasks Sync Issues

Submitted by David_H on 2020/03/26 03:41
Here are some issues I am experiencing:
  1. I only want one of my Google Task lists to sync with IQ. I selected it on intitial setup and so far that is the one that seems to be syncing. However every time I go back to the Google Connect dialog, every task list is checked again.
  2. If I set the sync to every 60 seconds, every time I go back to the Google Connecr dialog it is set to manual again.
  3. If I delete a task from Google, it becomes crossed off in IQ. Shouldn't it also be deleted in IQ, and visa versa?
  4. It appears that having something entered in the field "Task List" it what determines if the task will be carried over to Google Tasks? Does that mean that every time I enter a task in IQ that I want to carry over to Goolge Tasks i have to enter the name of a task list in that field? If so, I do not find that very efficient?
Thanks

Select item without launching link

Submitted by WayneK on 2020/03/22 15:57
I have many items consisting solely of a link to an external file.

I'm constantly accidentally launching external files I don't want to launch.

I realize I can avoid it by carefully selecting the cell so that the cursor is not over the link but that doesn't really help as I'm not thinking that far ahead at the time.

I want:

1) Clicking on cell selects cell only without launching link
2) Links launched by double-clicking only.

Thought for sure there was option to control this but I can't find it.
