Neither file or web hyperlinks work.

I am ex ECCO user and I can't get links to work in IQ, they are ignored.
I wanted to set an item as a link to the IQ User Manual so that I did not have to go through Firefox each time.
I used the Item, Hyperlink dialog which pasted the HTML text  in.

IQ recognized the item text as a link (underlined blue with link cursor)  but further than that I could not get. Is there a menu option or icon to execute it as in ECCO?
2-clicking on the item showed that the double-quotes were missing round the URL in the HTML <a href= element.

Items without grids

Submitted by KeithB on 2009/10/13 23:00
I came up with an idea, working on more spring cleaning of my database, to find items that weren't shown in any grids (other than journal, etc).

I made up a "no_grid" grid, and dragged all the (sources) yes/no fields for the grids to it.  I had 35 or so, removed a couple that I knew only had a few items in them, and spaced the columns to get everything to fit on one screen. I'm now going down item by item, and can quickly see which items don't have anything checked.

I'll go back, and use the same technique to work on grid re-assignments.

Big HTML documents in html pane can freeze the program when editing or just viewing

Submitted by Armando on 2009/10/11 17:06
I just pasted some data in the HTML pane -- a column of 2900 words. The program froze completely when I tried to edit the words and I had to close end IQ's process.
It doesn't happen all the time, but often enough to really be annoying..
Any other users with similar experiences ?

Manage Fields: nbparents field prompts to save changes when none made

Submitted by Tom on 2009/10/11 13:30
In Manage Fields:

Auto-save NOT selected.

click on 'nbparents' or on 'nbchildren'
then click on a different field
I get prompted that the field has been modified & asked to save the changes made (I didnt go near the right side of pane)

Reproducible in different installs & databases

HTML pane open automatically?

Submitted by KeithB on 2009/10/10 23:28
1) Is there a way, to have html pane appear from auto-hide mode, besides hovering oven the tab?

2) And would it be feasible to have the html pane appear from auto-hide automatically when you go to an item that has html pane content, (i.e. does not say "empty")?  I thought that would be handy in some of my grids that have a lot of fields.

Pasting multiline text creates new items

Submitted by Tom on 2009/10/07 17:23
easily repoducible here in different portable installs (clean and in my usual install):

  1. copy multiline text
  2. paste into selected text field. It doesnt matter if multi-line or not - but NOT in edit mode.
  3. select "Paste all text into the selected cells"
  4. the first line goes into the selected cell - a new item is made for each following line (see screenshot)

the text was pasted into the (highlighted) comments field of Item # 5 - Items 6 - 8 were created on pasting

EDIT/ guess I'm stating the obvious here - workaround is to simply make sure field is in edit mode
Can anyone confirm this BTW ?

[SOLVED] VB itemcolor (e.g. : &H6DB6B6) will disrupt HTML export

Submitted by Armando on 2009/10/07 04:08
if an item colour is not set in the general IQ Options, it blocks the multiple column table format html export (NOT the "bullet only" outline one for single columns).

So basically all "itemcolor" vb codes like "&H6DB6B6" will disrupt the export.

Can anybody confirm that ?
