mysterious strike through problem

Submitted by jan_rifkinson on 2009/01/17 19:48
Aha..... I just figured out my mysterious strike through problem wherein suddenly, after some keystroke or other an item would appear struck through.

Well, it goes like this.

When working in other db programs that have automated saves after each entry (usually when user changes focus or on exiting the program), I've always suggested to the developer of now 3-4 different programs, that they add a forced save function. They have usually complied with this request & have most have assigned <ctrl>S to the task.

So guess what?  In the course of adding data,  my fingers have become accustomed to <ctrl>S after data entry to force a save.  As all of you (except me) probably know <ctrl>S in IQ forces, not a save, but a strike through.

So....

Strange display of item text in Item?

Submitted by srv181 on 2009/01/17 11:33
It seems that the display of text in the Item field has changed - instead of doing normal
word wrap, text gets cut off and "..." is inserted, even though there would be more than
enough room to display the text. (See screenshot - the word "Teams" gets changed to "Team..." ?!?)

Then again, in other items, longer text displays.
I cannot figure out why this is happening, or how to make it stop, is this a bug in the new grid?

thanks

search form

In section 5, filters, search, etc. there is mention of something called the "search form". I don't see that in the system forms. Is that something the user is supposed to create. Wouldn't that end up being a duplicate of the advanced search dialog...... or is that it? Thanks.

The more examples you can provide the better. This in addition to explanation. Techies understand explanation. Non-techies (like me) understand examples. Just a thought.

wikitag links not working

Submitted by Anonymous on 2009/01/16 17:30
somehow when i type "{sometag}" in the wikitag box it doesnt creat a link to that tag instead i have to type "<a {sometag}>sometag</a>" then it works. but thats cumbersome. sqlnotes, aparently until now, to me, doesnt work in a pratical way to use tags...does anybody know any pratical way to work with tags? what i mean is that when i type "sometag AND anyothertag" (not necessary in that order) in the search field i get the results with those tags. the only way, to me, to do this is with the Wikitags.

exemplifying:

search field: sometag AND anyothertag

item found:
Item: foundtag
WikiTag: {anyothertag},{sometag}

im not sure if i was clear...thankx for the interest
