moving calendar around

Submitted by jan_rifkinson on 2008/12/05 17:17
In some documentation, there are images of various IQ desktops. In one of them, it shows the calendar in the lower left hand side of the desktop (if memory serves me). In any case, how to move the calendar & various windows around to set them up for different uses, i.e. outline by itself, calendar + contacts, etc. Thank you.

Refresh Questions

Submitted by jan_rifkinson on 2008/12/05 17:12
When I clip something & send it off to IQ via <WIN>+N, the data arrives ok. However, to view it, I have to refresh the main window to see the data. Wouldn't one think that the program would refresh on its own every time it receives some input? Thanks.

Moving the gantt window separator too far to the left freezes infoqube

That happens when columns are set to autoresize.

BTW this autoresize cannot be changed in the grid management window while the grid is actually opened. I suspect that there are other options that won't be changed when a grid is opened at the same time as the grid management window.

Custom user levels

As I start to roll out IQ to my production floor for testing, I would like to be able to disallow certain fuctions based on the users involved, particularly any delete and "design" functions. In otherwords, IQ for dummies. Do you think this is possible? I don't want any modification to the general design of theh database other than simple data entry. What do you think?

Creating new field kills grid

Submitted by alysse on 2008/12/05 12:19
This is the second time that tis has happend. But here is what happens. I create a new fied in an existing grid, save & close the manage field box. I go to close the grid to reopen & refresh it but do not actually reopen it. The grid tab shrinks to the size of the grid icon losing the grid name & stays that way. Status indicates that it is updating the column.

If I click on the grid that used to be the grid in question, it is completely empty. Closing & reopening IQ gives me back the grid, but all the fields are gone. I can recover by simply restoring the shown fields.

I think that maybe I did not wait long enough for the field to be updated before closing the grid, though I cannot say for sure. Screen shots included.
