Information lost in HTML Pane

Submitted by arehrlich on 2009/12/11 09:22
I've been following the development of IQ for quite a while.  Very impressive application and I'm thrilled to donate and participate once again.

I've been working on a book outline and hoisted a section to add some clarity to my thinking.  I began writing in the HTML pane of one of the entries. After moving some items around, the HTML pane is blank. A bunch of work gone... but more importantly an instability in IQ.  I don't know if this would have happened if the section wasn't hoisted... I'll play around and see if it happens again.

IMPORTANT : *conditionnal* hierarchical calculations seem to interfere with auto-assignment rules/equations <SOLVED>

Submitted by Armando on 2009/12/09 14:49
I spent countless hours trying to figure out what exactly was happening.

Equations in the auto-assignment equations were triggered without any direct interaction with fields and I was wondering what was happening (seemed they were no "Push" equations, but... "pull"). I of course suspected my poor coding... So I rewrote many things without success.

Today I discovered that when there's some conditionnal hierarchical equations in a field, autoassignments for this field are recalculated each time the hierarchical calculation is "accessed" for some reasons...

Hence :

1- a tremendous slowdown in operations
2- distorted results.

I am pretty sure this is the case... But Pierre, can you confirm that ?

Still a long way to go... Hoist - very fragile still.

As an ex-Ecco user I have followed InfoQube and its predecessor for many years and each version is an improvement. BUT:
I  have just tried to set up an address book in 0.9.25Pre-Rel3 in XP Pro SP2.
I had entered my 11 top level categories and could not find a way to sort my one out-of-order top level entry. There was something called Hoist which looked as if it might do the job. I could not find anything about it in the documentation.
Disaster!  My menus now just flash when I click in the menu bar. There is no way of saving a file (I hate relying on autosave in pre-release software). I reloaded InfoQube to see if it might reset but no.  have now lost my luckily small list.
I entered 'infoqube hoist' in Google and found that Hoist was actually  a toggle in the Grid menu. A pity; using it causes my menu system to be inaccessible.
( I am making do with Natara Bonsai at the moment - limited but no autosave!

Manage Forms

Submitted by Al on 2009/12/08 20:26
Two questions in regards to Forms.

1. Is there a way to select multiple fields (<control><select>) at once?
2. When I added new fields to a form and hit Apply, the form did not update. I had to close and open IQ for the new fields to take.

Thanks

Email BCC

A suggestion for the 'Send emails'. An option to place the email addresses in any of the mail to locations; To, CC or BCC. If CC or BCC selected, place IQ owners email address in the To: location.

Calendar Menu Problem

Submitted by Al on 2009/12/08 00:13
I have an intermittent menu problem. In monthly view when I try to pull down any of the main menus they won't pull down, they just flash. At this point I can't attribute the problem to any particular action. I keep an eye on it and try to provide more insight. Sometimes the menus are okay?

Auto update of Calendar Appointment

Submitted by Al on 2009/12/07 13:10
Maybe this is already on the list of things todo? I would like to visually advance (increment it from day to next day etc.)an appointment automatically until; 1) I disable the 'auto advance' (right click appointment, click menu selection to disable) or 2) If the 'Advance to date is reached'. I try to keep my calendar vary lean, but there are times I put critical reminders on the calendar, e.g. Real Estate taxes due on 12/10, I also set an appointment for the actual event. I guess in the ideal world if this could be handled in the same dialog box, basically create two appointments in one dialog box, one of which is say 2 weeks before the 'Advance to date'  and increments itself every day and the actual appointment. It isn't really an appointment I just leave the time on the default time. I guess it is actually just a long term reminder, but I want to see it on the calendar.

Multiple emails

Submitted by Al on 2009/12/07 12:42
Just started playing with emails, looks good. Two questions

1. when I select 'send emails/ individual emails' (selected multiple names), when Outlook comes up the names are separated by a ',' in Outlook I need to separate by a ";". I couldn't find a option to change this anywhere.

2. I don't recall ever setting up my Outlook client, could have over a year ago, and everything seems to work fine. When I went to Tools/Options/POP email, POP server name, account name and password are all blank, Check for POP mail is unchecked. Shouldn't these be filled in for the email function to work? Just curious, everything seems to work fine.
Thanks
