[0.9.86b Portable] Faded "Selected Background Color" despite focus

Submitted by ethanrox on 2016/11/17 15:52
Somehow the mechanic behind the "fadeness" of the selected background color does not seem to work any more.
Example:
Open Item in New Scratch Grid -> normal background color.
Go to Calendar.
Get back to Scratch Grid -> faded background color as if the grid has lost focus.

Printing and Exporting

InfoQube has many UI to show items, namely:
  1. Grids
  2. 2-D Surface
  3. Calendar
  4. Map View
  5. TimeLine
In addition, information is also shown in panes, namely
  1. Doc pane
  2. Properties pane
Each of these "views" can print and / or export the content shown.

The useful commands are:
  • File > Print Preview
  • File > Export
  • Edit > Copy Special

  • Doc pane:
    • Menu > File > Print Preview, or
    • Menu > File > Open in Browser

Creating file links (option to point to shortcut instead of actual file): Broken

Submitted by Armando on 2016/11/15 14:34
Option to link files by creating a shortcut to the file ("Link should point to : shortcut to the file") : doesn't work anynore.
It creates extra empty folders in *.SNDB named after the file.

- created a test.txt file
- dragged it to IQ
- a bogus folder/link is created in the SNDB (e.g. E:\IQ\*.SNDB.files\test.lnk\(empty))

Not sure when that started, since I've mainly used 83.

Why are dupes showing up?

Submitted by WayneK on 2016/11/15 11:47
Can someone help me understand why duplicate items are showing up in my To Do grid?

I have my tasks organized into projects (TLI's).  Underneath these are subitems representing subprojects and individual tasks.  I have a column for categories and one for priorities.  I repeatedly use column filters to look at various categories and priorities.

After doing this a few times, I find new TLI's appearing that are duplicates of subitems.  They have the same Item ID as existing subitems, which still appear in their proper places.  If I move the dupe subitem to its proper location with its original version, the two items merge and the dupe disappears.

This is happening over and over again.  Any idea what I could be doing to cause this?

Hide Panes, docking etc

Submitted by DavidF on 2016/11/15 05:53
hi,

Pierre, you suggested F11 could perhaps no longer perform a Hide/Show Pane function and do this toggling between docked/undocked business. For what it's worth, can I cast my vote for a plain and simple hide/show panes function whether it's F11 or something else. I don't spend a lot (well, any) time shifting between docked and undocked in my usage. My practice is to create the layouts I want, with panes in the position I want for that purpose, save them and load them as required. Then, regardless of what the particular layout is, I have F11 to remove the panes and put them back as required. I find this quick ability to unclutter the screen incredibly useful and I would hate to see it go.

Alt+F6 & F7 (cycle though panels)

Submitted by Tom on 2016/11/15 05:48
Love the idea of Alt+F6 and Alt+F7

First impressions and some problems/queries

Alt+F6
=> with *either* the Home Page, or the HTML pane on autohide, it will not cycle properly through the panels. First round seems to be okay, but then it starts skipping the properties pane - you can see it gets focus for an instant, but the the focus jumps to the Home Page.

=> As said elsewhere would be nice to have a colour indication when one of the grid areas has focus.

Alt+F7
=> this will cycle through the Properties, HTML, and Hompage panels, but does not allow access to the grids (all of which are shown though).
