if a subitem won't display, remember to turn off Auto-Search !!! and a question about that behavior.

Submitted by jimspoon on 2019/10/18 15:47
I was stumped.  I used Ctrl+F3 Auto-Search to find a parent item in the grid, and then I tried to expand it to see the subitems.  The subitems would not appear, no matter what I did!  But then I wondered if it had something to do with the fact that I had turned on Auto-Search.  When I turned off Auto-Search, then I was able to see the subitems under the Item.  So, I'm wondering, would it be better if we could still see the subitems under the parent item, even if Auto-Search is still on?  It's easy to forget that I have it on!

Calendar very sluggish with Google sync enabled (temporary freezes)

Submitted by LeftEccoForIQ on 2019/10/17 04:19
It's like that, for example, when I drag an event from one day to another. IQ needs around five seconds minimum before it accepts input again. With sync disabled, the same operation is quite snappy and I can, for example, drag the event back to the original date without any delay.

This is happening even though I have the auto-sync interval set to 0 ('manual'). To make the problem go away I have to deactivate 'sync enabled' in the Google Connect dialog.

Grid Copy Issues

Submitted by WayneK on 2019/10/16 18:35
I don't know if these are bugs or me.

Trying to create a new grid with the same column set as another grid.

Issue #1 - Copy Existing Grid

1) New grid>Grid Name = T-B
2) Options>Copy of an existing grid
3) Create a duplicate of the following grid: T-A
Error message: Invalid name.  Select an existing grid from the dropdown list.

The grid WAS selected from the dropdown list.  Solution: change grid name from T-A to TA.

Apparently, using a dash in the grid name caused the problem.  A dash is not listed as an invalid character for grid names here: https://infoqubeim.com/drupal5/?q=node/269

Issue #2 - Grid Save As

1) Grid T-A with source #Ta

Auto start multiple instances

Submitted by WayneK on 2019/10/15 00:01
I run 4-6 instances of InfoQube all the time.  I tried to automate the process of opening the files by putting them in the start up folder.

The files do open, but in every case, one of the files is fine but all the others have corrupted menus and title bars (blank spaces, line fragments etc).  They are all fixed by closing the files and launching them again.

Not asking that anything be done but am just curious if someone might know what causes this and if there's another way to automate the opening of multiple InfoQube files.

Conditional formatting rules don't stick in certain situations

Submitted by Armando on 2019/10/14 15:37
Hi,

I've been trying to modify a bunch of "conditional formatting" rules in the "item" field, using the "edit in notepad" and "load from a text file" functions, but they don't stick. They initially work, but when I restart IQ, the rules are gone.

Now, the only way to have conditional formats stick after a restart is to directly edit the list in IQ, in the tiny section in the "manage fields" window. (ok for very simple lists, but really not easy in longer lists as the editing section is so small)

Thanks!

Fix divider line in place

Submitted by WayneK on 2019/10/13 17:52
Could the properties pane vertical divider line be fixed so it will stay in place where it's placed manually?

I need the divider line to be offset to the right so I can read the field names on the left while the check boxes are confined to a narrow space on the right.

InfoQube repeatedly moves the divider line back to the middle.  As a result, I can't read the field names until I manually move the line over again.  I have to do this multiple times throughout the day.

Thanks,
Wayne

Link and hoist issues

Submitted by WayneK on 2019/10/13 12:08
Short version:  link to item hoists the item then loses selection when hoist is turned off.

Long version:

I've run into this many times and can't figure out why it occurs.

1) Same grid open in 3 tabs
.
2) In tab #3, I click on a link to another item in the same grid.

3) View switches to tab #1

Not a problem but curious that it switches tabs instead of going to linked item in current tab.  Maybe goes to first tab that was opened.

4) Target item is hoisted.

Why does it hoist the item?  Thought maybe it was because another item was hoisted when the link was executed, but even when I turn off hoist, return to the link, and execute it again, it again hoists the target item.

5) Target item is lost when hoist is turned off.
