After v115f update, DocPane stoped parsing active links for the format: <a href="url">title</a>

Submitted by carloscadu on 2020/06/12 09:56
 Hi,

As shown in the screencast (https://bit.ly/2MS1Bqy), the format <a href="url">title</a> for URLs can be pasted properly on the grid.
However, when pasted on the DocPane, the link is not being parsed anymore.

In another thread, we can see former IQ versions parsing pasted <a href="url">title</a> into active links:

Can the DocPane start parsing again as active link the items pasted having the format <a href="url">title</a>?

Thank you!

Dark mode?

Submitted by KeithB on 2020/06/11 20:53
Dark mode (theme) is currently being discussed on https://www.outlinersoftware.com/topics/viewt/9037/30
I believe it was last mentioned on this forum https://infoqubeim.com/drupal5/?q=node/4275#comment-20536 in 2018.

I'm all for it getting a higher priority. For the programs that have this feature, I'm using dark mode 90% of the time, and it's really helpful with multiple monitors (I have 5 right now, 3 on the desktop and 2 on the laptop).

Will we be able eventually to create our own themes?

New Item Dialog - option to clip into currently selected item?

Submitted by Cyganet on 2020/06/07 17:32
Hi,

When I am clipping / adding items into InfoQube using the New Item Dialog, I usually have the selection at a certain position in the grid where I want the item to appear. However, the new itm dialog always creates a new top-level item, so then I have to mark it and add it to my desired grid position as sub-item. Could there be an option in the New Item Dialog to insert the new item content into the currently selected item, i.e. overwrite the "Item" and "ItemHTML" fields for the selected ItemID? It would save me several steps of work.

Thank you!

Would anyone like to use the alpha keys to navigate around IQ in grid view?

Submitted by LeftEccoForIQ on 2020/06/07 07:39
While looking into emacs as my main text editing (and possibly outlining) platform recently, I came across the controversy of modal vs. non-modal editing.

'Vim'-style editors have modal editing out of the box, i.e. you start out in 'command mode' and the regular alpha keys act like navigation and shortcut keys do in other programs, i.e. move the cursor, cut/copy/paste/delete/select, scroll, start a search etc. So hjkl, for example, are VIM's cursor keys. To actually enter text, you have to press a certain key to enter so-called 'insert mode', type what you have in mind, then toggle back to 'command mode' for navigation or other commands and so forth. Less frequent commands are accessed by tapping a 'leader key' followed by other characters, which is also considered more ergonomic than modifier down + key(s) for command.

Sort bar - second, third column not sorting

Submitted by Cyganet on 2020/06/06 14:29
Hi,

I have a grid with multiple columns that I am viewing as "Source Items (flat list)" and Sort is set to "Sort Bar" and "Sort Items". The grid sorts correctly for the first column, but the sort order is ignored for the second and third column specified in the sort bar. The columns are either fixed pop-up lists, checkboxes, or dates, so there is no issue with HTML formatting or anything like that. Whenever a column is the first one in the sort bar it is sorted correctly, but not when it is later in the sort order.

Can you please have a look what's going on?

Thank you!

What are the possibilities to move items around IQ, making them exclusive to the destination grid?

 Hi,

What are the possibilities to move items around IQ, making them exclusive to the destination grid?
For instance, in Gmail you can add as many labels you want to an email, but you can make the email exclusive to a label by using the command "move to".

Links pane anyone ?

Forums
Hi IQ Users !

IQ has many ways to create links, so how about a pane dedicated to links:
  • The links pane would show a unified view of all items, files and URL linked to the current item or items
  • The view would show a tabular list or 2-D surface of all links
  • A dropdown will allow users to select which link types to view (or all).

Doc Pane Idea

Submitted by David_H on 2020/06/03 19:19
I believe an incredibly useful feature would be to make a column that would function as a show/hide for the Document pane. The existing ItemHasHTML column might do the job perfectly. Use case:

A user has a ton of notes or clippings (which are contined in doc panes) and may frequently need to look through them to find the one that want. Due to limited screen real estate this requires clicking on an item, then clicking on the HTML pane to reveal it, then repeat and rinse again and again.

Could we just have a column to hover over, that also functions as a show/hide for the doc pane? It would be a game changer if I could just hover move through items and hover over the ItemHasHTML column to show/hide the doc pane for items.

Thank You

Pasting image in doc pane (Not responding)

Submitted by Cyganet on 2020/06/03 10:39
Hi,

I have an item with existing text inside the doc pane, which is stored in the database, not an external file. When I try to paste an image under the text in the doc pane via the clipboard (paste as bitmap image) InfoQube gets stuck with the (Not responding) message. The doc pane is in edit mode. I can paste it as HTML (which links to a picture on the internet), but I wanted to add the picture itself. Does the doc pane support embedded pictures, or do I always need to create the picture as an external file and link to it?

Thank you.
