Program Settings & Options

Good Afternoon:

Using Tools >Options I have started to have the  IQ Calendar  appear as I use the Calendar  in ECCOPRO. With IQ Appointments selected I have recently used the  "Show in Calendar" option to place a segment of an ECCOPRO file into Calendar.  When placing entries in the ECCOPRO Calendar I have set up the Hourly Time divisions   into TEN Minute intervals.

Does an Item Need to Be (Automatically) Selected When a Grid is Opened?

Submitted by David_H on 2017/05/08 16:58
I use conditional formatting for all items in IQ.  I use a really simple color coding based on stoplights, green means keep going (it's done), yellow is an open item (slow down), and red are high priority/focus open items (stop).  Whenever I launch a grid there is always one item selected, which means I have to move off it to see the color of the item, because otherwise it's for the color of items that are selected.

Is there a way to change that behavior so an item is not selected until the user selects it?  Even ignoring my slightly obsessive coloring scheme, it seems to me that when a grid is launched (or switched back to), an item should not be selected unless the user does so.

Thanks!

Home Page Bugs

Submitted by David_H on 2017/05/07 14:25
1. NO grids show up on the default home page in v96e, they are all gone.

2. In options I have "restore layout settings when opening files" unchecked, so IQ now launches without any open grids.  When I then try to launch a grid from my custom home page, which is how I do all grid launching, grids won't open.  I have to open the first grid from the View menu, only after I've done that, and have one grid open, can I launch grids from my custom home page.

3. Links to grids on my custom home pages now have to be clicked twice to launch them.

4. The buttons at the top that cycle between home pages also have to be clicked twice to work.

Thanks

Two Different Hoisted Views of one Grid doesnt stick

Submitted by Tom on 2017/05/07 05:57
Difficult one to search for here: may be an old / known situation.

I have two copies of one grid open -
I hoist each to a different item.

When I close and reopen IQ, the views have synced i.e. both grid views now show the same hoisted item.

Is this a limitation of the grid / IQ, or can it be made to remember the different hoists?

IQ Crashing on Open even on Backups

Submitted by David_H on 2017/05/06 14:54
I am running the latest portable version 96e on both my laptop and desktop.  I had my database open on my laptop last night with no issues, closed IQ and after dropbox finished syncing, then shut the laptop down.  This morning when I tried to open the database on my desktop it would crash on open.  I've experienced this before and usually just revert to the last backup.  But so far I've gone through several backups and every single one crashes on open.  I'm about to go back to my laptop and see if I can open one from there.  Below is the message I get when it crashes.  Any suggestions?

GUI glitch with panes on autohide

Submitted by Armando on 2017/05/02 19:07
Sometimes, panes  on autohide don't go away (they're docked at the left of my IQ window). Their blue background, specifically.
I need to restart IQ to fix the problem, or IQ eventually crashes.

I don't know how to reproduce that with a sample DB. At first I thought it had to do with some new parameter controlling the time docked panes take before hiding. Changing the value seemed to fix it, but the problem came back after installing 96c

Here's how it looks like (after clicking on a few tabs at the left (the tabs are shown in the 2nd screenshot):

Copy/paste triggers the "paste options" dialog even when only 1 line is copy/pasted

Submitted by Armando on 2017/05/02 12:53
Don't know if it's just a problem on my side.

Steps in sample file:

1- Open the to-do grid

2- in the Notes column, focus on a cell with some content (e.g. www.sqlnotes.net)

3- without going into edit mode : copy (ctrl+c)

4- put focus on empty cell & without going into edit mode : paste

5- IQ shows "paste options" : "clipboard contains 2 lines", etc.

But... the clipboard shouldn't contain 2 lines, just 1. For some reasons, IQ seems to add an empty line at the end

(Workaround : go in edit mode to copy the content of the cell & paste)
