The IQ Surface

The two-dimensional IQ Surface is an infinitely-sized sheet that can be used to show items.
It is an innovative way to view outlines, combining the free-form 2D layout and linking of concept maps with the expand / collapse features of grids:

In a nut-shell:
  • Use View > Surface to open the Surface
  • Unlike grids, where the number is unlimited, there is currently only one Sur

Ability to auto-fill Text Fields for new TLI in Grid?

Is this possible:
I want any new TLI in a particular grid to have a text field filled e.g. Project=XYZ
 
(The grid in question has a simple Y/N field source.)
 
I tried via:
Manage Grids >Data >Auto-assign field list . . .
 
I tried:
Project=XYZ
and
Project="XYZ"
 
but neither seem to work - is there another way of doing this, or could this capability be added to Manage Grids ?

Coming in the next version (v0.9.95) : 
  • New: Gantt: Multiple Undo
  • New: Gantt: Improved Critical path calculation and display
  • New: Gantt: Ctrl + Mouse wheel now changes zoom (same as it is for the grid)
  • New: Gantt: Shift + Mouse when now scrolls the chart left - right (same as it is for the grid)
  • New: Gantt: Start date, End date and range is now shown on the status bar

Can P.Pane retain width when resizing adjecent pane?

Request:
that the Properties Pane (PP) retain it's size when resizing an adjacent pane.

See screenshot:
  • HTML pane docked on the right-hand side of window
  • next to the left comes the PP (left again the grid tabs)
=> when I resize the HTML pane, the PP adjusts its size (width).
I would prefer and find it more logical that the PP retain its size

'Freeze' the Headers in Properties Pane (?)

A suggestion:
 
that the 'headers' in the properties pane be frozen i.e.
when I scroll down through 'All Fields' the headers 'Item Info', 'Marked Items', 'Grids', etc would remain visible
 
I can see this would lose some space, but I find myself repeatedly down at the bottom of 'All Fields' and having to scroll up to the top to get to something in 'Item Info'
 

"unable to open linked table H:\InfoQube\" after i click to 're-opne with the updated database' synced via dropbox, pls help

 Hi, i have one database syned between my desktop pc , and my laptop, via setted up via dropbox as per instruction given on webpage.
It worked good for the first days, but then the desktop one keep popup "unable to open linked table' everytime i choose to re-open updated copy.
 
pls tell me where could be the issue ?

Ability to Fill Text Fields via New Item Dialogue?

Pierre, I've gotten used to being able to add fields in the email subject-line, e.g.
#Project=XYZ
etc.
 
Wondering could this be possible via the new-item dialogue ?
 
When adding a new item via the new-item dialogue,
I am unable to add any fields that are not simple y/n fields
 
At one stage wasn't there was a sync button for the PP in that dialogue? -- where one could work in the properties pane (for the new item) while the dialogue was open:
This option doesnt seem to exist or work any more.

grid source field not assigned to new TLI resulting from Item Split (Ctrl+Shift+S)

 I have a grid named "journal - 2015".  The source field is a yes/no field named "journal - 2015".  In the Manage Grids box, the "Auto-Assign Field List for all Top Level Items (TLI) added in this Grid (read-only)" is "journal - 2015".  
 
Therefore, if I create a new TLI in this grid, the field "journal - 2015" is assigned to the TLI.
 
However, if I SPLIT an existing TLI in this grid, so that two TLIs appear in the grid in place of the original, the field "journal - 2015" is NOT assigned to the the second TLI (containing the text after the split point).  So, as soon as the grid is refreshed, that item no longer appears in the grid, because the source field for the grid is not assigned to that item. 
 
This is a bug, right?

  2. New: Surface: Improved Link Items and Delete Link commands
  3. New: HTML pane: When viewing a web page and selecting New MHT File, option to convert content to MHT. Effectively, this captures an exact replica as a local file.
