infoqube for browser bookmarks

Submitted by jimspoon on 2019/09/09 22:04
I research many different topics and I like to save links to the pages I visit, so I can go back to them later.

Tabs Outliner is a good Chrome extension for arranging and saving tabs.   Here's my latest browsing session on my laptop:

With Tabs Outliner, I can use outliner-type keyboard shortcuts (ctrl+arrow keys) to arrange these bookmarks by outline topic:

But really, Tabs Outliner is too limited for what I want to do.

I use another program called Linkman which great.  There are browser extensions that allow me to bookmark all my tabs to the database.  I can save all my bookmarks to a linkman database that is synced via OneDrive.&nbsp

Undo sequence bug

Submitted by Armando on 2019/09/03 16:49
Steps
- Select an item
- Open the Gantt and add a duration for that item
- Select another item
- add another duration for that item too

You should have 2 items with 2 bars in the Gantt.

- Focus back on one of the item's cell (item text) and type something ("test").
- Press enter to validate the entry

- Ctrl+Z to undo what you just typed.
The duration of the Gantt will be erased, instead of erasing what you just typed.

- Ctrl+Z again to undo.
The other duration you entered is also erased.

Dashboards/grids tabs focus problem

Submitted by Armando on 2019/09/03 16:30
Focus tends to flicker and go back to previous tab. In my own setup, I need to click and leave my finder pressed on the button for more than one second to stabilize the focus as sometimes, the focus will always revert to the previously focused tab

In sample DB :

- Click on Welcome tab

- Click on Shopping list.

- Re-click on Welcome tab

Do that a few times, you’ll see the focus sometimes flickers and go back and forth between the tabs.

Here it happens almost all the time, and sometimes the focus just doesn't stick. Not sure why.

Item XML (full) copy-paste bug + no paste menu

Submitted by Armando on 2019/09/03 16:24

Steps
—Select an item and copy the full item (XML)
—Place the focus somewhere else in a hierarchy, under a parent/item
—Paste it.

Item is pasted directly in DB  without parents, not as an item below the current parent, where the focus is.
(Note that the menu offering where to position the item [IIRC] isn’t shown either.)

Item text copy : IQ freeze

Submitted by Armando on 2019/09/03 16:21
When items have many parents (and possibly many children), focusing an item cell to copy the item text freezes IQ.

Don't know why it does that as the operation consists of only copying text of the focused cells, but it does. 100% reproducible.

Steps:
- Sample DB
- Select the "documentation" item of the welcome grid
- Mark it.
- Then add it (the marked item) as a child of all 2nd level subs of the "Documentation" item and all 2nd level subs of the "Example" item. (The purpose is to add/create as many parents as possible to the "documentation" item.)
- Select the "documentation" item and copy it. (Just plain copy of the cell.)

IQ freezes for a while.

With my DB, it can sometimes freeze for minutes and I have to kill the process.

Thanks!

Drag from untimed to timed section for day in calendar broken

Submitted by LeftEccoForIQ on 2019/09/01 16:20
I think something similar has come up, maybe even the same problem, but I can't find the thread I had in mind. When I drag an event from the top section of a day in the calendar to the time-scaled one, strange things happen. Let me know if you need more details, but I think you're already well aware of drag and drop issues with the new calendar.

Linux again - anyone successfully running in Wine or Crossover?

Submitted by cicerosc on 2019/08/29 22:55
Hello again.  I continue to want to embrace Infoqube as my Ecco replacement, but I cannot go back to Windows.  I tried today to install the latest Infoqube into the latest Crossover in a Windows 7 bottle.  The install seemed to go ok, but every time I tried to open the program it crashed weirdly, apparently unable to open or create a new infobase, even from the templates.

I can report back with more detail of the error but thought I would ask first whether anyone is running successfully in Linux or whether developments in the last year have made that impossible.  Seems like when I was trying this about a year or two ago I could at least get the program to open a sample database.
