I've always been frustrated with the folder filing system on PC's, which is really a 30-year old technology hold over. If you think about why we all love IQ it's because it allows us to tag our information with meta data which then allows us to view and structure information in any way we want - moving beyond the folder paradigm. I'd like to be able to do the same for files - assign a file to a project folder, contact folder, year folder etc.
Another small issue I am encountering. This happens in some HTML panes and even in those panes it might only happen in one area where I can't seem to change the bold setting. I can even copy non-bold text into the area and it changes it to bold. Video here.
Since upgrading from 62 to 64 today I keep getting warnings popping up at random (when IQ is open) as shown in the attachment. I'll even get them when I'm in another application not even doing anything in IQ. I just unselected "always ask before opening this file", I think I already had, but I'll now see if it happens again. Regardless any ideas on why it's happening at all Pierre? To reiterate, I am NOT talking about when I launch IQ, I'm talking about when I am using it, or even when it's open and I am not using it.
With the old hierarchical mode, there was a custom toolbar button that could be put on the toolbar to show the status of the mode, I very much liked being able to see at a glance which mode I was in. Is this possible with the new Display Mode? If not, please consider adding to a future release.
Is it possible to auto-assign the value of a parent field based on the value of any child field? That is, if I have a parent field "Animals" with child fields "Alligators", "Bears", and "Crocodiles", all yes/no fields, is it easy to set it up so that "Animals" will also be checked if any of those child fields is checked for a particular item? For example, if for Item "Alfred" the child field "Alligator" is checked, the parent field "Animal" will also be checked?
I use bullets and numbers lists a lot, usually with a header/or title and bullets underneath, and in the HTML pane adding bullets always forces the bullets down two spaces from whatever is above it, like this:
List Title
Point 1
Point 2
Point 3
Is there any way to change that so there isn't a space between the title and the bullets?
The good news is that the interim update Pierre gave me is allowing me to view PDF's outside the InfoQube drive. Unfortunately, they're being displayed in an unreadable format with all kinds of toolbars taking up almost the entire viewing space. The PDF itself shows up as tiny text in a narrow column in the middle.
